THANK YOU!

Dear Friends,

As I begin to reorient myself back at Providence College in a post-campaign mode, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank youall again for helping to bring this district back into the bluecolumn for the Democrats.

After the 2004 election, New York Times columnist Matt Bai wrote acommentary, which highlighted the importance of running a stronggrassroots campaign. According to Bai, a successful groundorganization could swing an election by four- to seven- points. OnTuesday, that was clearly the case, and for that, I have all of youto thank.

Together, we knocked on over 6,000 doors, made thousands of phonecalls, wrote over 35 letters to the editor, out-raised our opponentin the last two periods, and ultimately won this seat for Tom andall the citizens of Lincoln, Sudbury, and Wayland.

So, thank you. It was a privilege working with all of you, and Idefinitely have some fond memories from the past six months. Fromthe Wayland DTC Picnic to the Sudbury Election Rally to the LincolnTown Parade and everything in between, it was truly a memorableexperience.

Although I have since journeyed back to college, I want to make sureI intend to keep in touch with you all over the next few months.Feel free to drop me an email, or give me a call at anytime. Thanks again for everything you did. It was truly a team effort.

Best,
Matt Harutunian

Scott Harshbarger Endorses Tom!

It was a most pleasant flash from the not too distant past, Scott Harshbarger’s words welcoming all the attendees to introduce TOM CONROY to yet another new and enthusiast group of citizens ready to cast their vote November 7th, 2006.

Mr. Harshbarger is still a no-nonsense Democrat who has been instrumental in leading the way for campaign finance reform, neighborhood partnerships to rekindle safe communities, and a desire to see a new and growing group of Democrats move into the State Legislature and return to the Governor’s office.

Tom Conroy received a huge welcome and loud applause from all anxious to hear his ideas as Mr. Harshbarger expressed his thanks for Tom’s commitment to become an important public servant, acknowledging that Tom could just easily stay at his Fortune 500 job. It was clear to all that Tom sees servicing the public in the capacity of State Representative from Lincoln, Sudbury, and Wayland as part of the bigger picture of “service for the common good” and the most worthwhile endeavor he can undertake next to caring for his family.

Mr. Harshbarger found it easy to understand Tom’s decision to run, reiterating the idea that service is not about one’s personal viewpoints, but about the rights and betterment of the people that representative serves. He applauded Tom’s background in service to refugees abroad as well as his professional work experience in both the public and private sectors. Tom clearly knows and understands the intricacies of government.

Tom spoke of saving our communities from losing any portion of citizens because of run-away property taxes. He does not want any seniors living on fixed incomes be forced out of their homes after 35 or 40 years because of property taxes. He knows there are several ways to allow these citizens to enjoy the rest of their lives without the fear of property taxes. He is a creative and forward thinker who will not relent on issues which have caused controversy.

It was a most informative and exciting time for Tom Conroy, Scott Harshbarger and all of Tom’s new and growing supporters. Tom will debate Susan Pope Wednesday, October 18th at 7:00 pm in the Goodnow Library in Sudbury. The debate will run live on your local cable channel.
